Jude Recaps for Black Lives Matter and Trans Lives In Texas

[Wing: The Devil’s Elbow stands with our trans siblings. As we’ve talked about in several, several recaps, many of us here fall somewhere within the queer community, but you do not need to be a part of a community to see the damage done to it, to stand up against prejudice and violence.]

Oh for the love of fucking CHRIST.

So, apparently, the governor of Texas is trying to criminalize transgender children by stating gender affirming cases will be seen as “child abuse.”

Yes I’m fucking mad. No I don’t live in fucking Texas.

But I’m at the point in my life where I have no fucking idea what my gender identity might be, and recently I had a health scare that left me feeling if I had to lose anything… down there… it wouldn’t exactly be a bad thing.

Does that make me transgender? I don’t know. But I’m doing this.

Recap commissions are officially open indefinitely, now until the end of time. Fan fic commissions and liveblogs aren’t on the table anymore because recap commissions are the easiest for me to work on regarding my focus and my scheduling.

The Basics: For a donation of $25 with proof of a time stamped receipt emailed to me at hawaiipj1959@gmail.com, or sent to me through tumblr or twitter, I will recap a book or short story of your choice. Sequels aren’t an option if I haven’t recapped the original, I can’t recap books that were already covered here on Devil’s Elbow or part of a franchise that someone’s already working on, and if I can’t get access to the book or subject matter I can’t recap it.

I have the right to refuse recapping a book or story if I do not feel comfortable with it and will refund you the money. I am doing this to help people and that comes first, but if a subject is triggering I’m not going to force myself to work on it.

All I ask is that you please be patient. I usually work two different jobs, I’m dealing with a mother who has cancer, and I have other projects I need to work on as well.
